KNURLED

Knurled handlebars can be ordered with either the Standard 4 1/2 inch HD Knurls or the Springer® 6 1/8 inch HD Knurls. Each specific handlebar style will have a separate part number if it is available with the Knurled option.

Handlebars ordered with the Internal Wiring Holes option come with three 3/8" x 1/2" oval Wiring Holes. One hole is located at bottom center on the handlebar and the other two are located at each end of the bar centered inside the stock control casing area. The Internal Wiring Hole option does not come with dimples. The part number sequence for internal wiring holes is 650-2XXXX.

INTERNAL WIRING HOLES

DIMPLED

Handlebars ordered with the Dimples option come with Dimples similar to stock bars. The Dimples allow room for the wires to exit the control casing area. Dimples are the indentations on the 1983 and Later Stock Harley-Davidson bars. You will need to order bars with Dimples for your 1983 and Later Harley-Davidson unless you plan on internally wiring your new bars.

Most handlebars are available with the Black Powder Coat Finish. Usually the part number for Black Powder Coated bars ends in an even number.

BLACK POWDER COATED

Flanders Company has been producing high quality handcrafted handlebars since 1945. All of the Handlebars featured on the following pages are made of high quality seamless cold drawn steel tubing. They're polished, bent by the mandrel method thereby eliminating unsightly flat outer sections and then chrome plated or black powder coated to perfection.

Handlebar Measurements

All measurements are made in normal riding position.

Height or Rise: Total height measured in a level plane.

Pull Back: Vertical lines from the furthest forward to rear in a level plane.

Center Width: Straight flat section before the start of the bends.

Width: Total overall tip to tip width, no grips or bar end weights.

New cables and new brake lines? When buying new bars, a rough formula to follow is to measure the increased heigth + 1/2 the increased pullback that the new bars will give you. This amount will be very close to how much additional cable and brake line that you may need. However, the best method is to fit the new bars to the motorcycle and then make the increased length determinations, if needed at all.

Additionally, make sure to allow room for your new bars to clear your gas tank on full lock turn.
